I was going through my email, getting it cleared out so that I can leave for Rome tomorrow with a clear conscience. I came across this video from a friend, and thought, "wow, I wish everyone could see this". So, Everyone, here it is......

The Parish of St. Edward would like to offer its prayers and congratulations, to Rev. Mr. Thi Van Hoang, who served his pastoral year here, and Rev. Mr. Leonard Marrujo who has been assigned to St. Edward for his Deacon Year.
Well, guess where we are going? Beginning this Monday, Fr. Jeff is leading a Gasparian Pilgrimmage to Rome, and my husband and I, along with several other parishioners, will be spending 8 days exploring our faith in one of the most exciting countries for doing so. I hear that only a visit to the Holy Land can beat the experience. I always pray for my fellow parishioners, especially my Faith Formation families, but I will pray extra hard for all of you while I am in the Eternal City. Please pray for us that we will have a safe journey and grow even stronger in our faith. God bless you. Donalyn Archbishop-designate Cordileone has made the following announcement: "In order to relieve me of the burden of the pastoral governance of two dioceses at the same time as I assume leadership in San Francisco, the Holy Father has appointed the Most Reverend Alexander Brunett, Archbishop Emeritus of Seattle, as the Apostolic Administrator of Oakland effective October 4, 2012, until such time as a new bishop is appointed for Oakland and takes possession of the diocese... I am grateful to Archbishop Brunett for the enthusiasm with which he has accepted this appointment. He has a wealth of experience, and I am confident that this will benefit the diocese during this period of transition." Welcome, in advance, to our upcoming Administrator! The Faith Formation staff is looking forward to greeting all of our new and returning parents with children enrolled in the Communion A program. Tonight's 7pm meeting is the beginning of an initial two-year faith journey leading to their celebration of the Sacraments of Holy Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist next year. But that won't be the end of the faith journey, something we all understand is a life-long journey on the road to heaven! We encourage our families to keep their children attending "CCD" classes until they are Confirmed; and after that, start attending the Adult Faith Formation classes, Bible Study, etc. Wanna take a peak at the handout from the meeting?
We also encourage (a.k.a., require) that our parents be the ones to help the children memorize their prayers. To help them with that we provide a little "game" that one of our school parents, Brenda Banchieri, came up with. We give them two copies of the "Our Father", one on card stock, one on paper. Each line of the prayer is on it's own line and they cut the paper one into strips. Then, working with their child, they mix up the strips and have the child put them back into order over top the lines on the card stock.
