I have spent the last several months studying the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.  One thing I can say about it is that the study has slowly changed the way I celebrate the Ordinary Form.  Somehow, I think that was the intent of Benedict XVI.

September 2012 will see the Beginning of the the inclusion of the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite at St. Edward Catholic Church. It will probably be held on Thursday Evenings.  More information to come. 

Today was the Eighth Annual Red Mass for the opening of the Academic Year at St. Edward Catholic School.  Each year the School Year opens with a Votive Mass of the Holy Spirit. 

The School will assist the parish in the annual Blue Mass, held September 11, when we honor Police and Fire Personnel in our Community.

February 11 is the annual White Mass when we honor Medical workers. 

Forget the Camel, take the needle.

The needle: strong, unbending, consistent, straight.

Pierces: sharper than a two edged sword.

The needle is Christ, the Word of God, the Cross.

knitting together: heaven and earth, spirit and flesh, divinity and humanity.

Why did we ever think we could get to heaven on our own, that it was about what we had or did, that it was about our goodness?

Forget the Camel; take the needle.
