CONFIRMATION PROGRAM
Welcome to the St. Edward Confirmation Program!
Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation, in which we, as Catholics, pass on the faith and candidates receive the Holy Spirit, confirming the intent to live out a life of faith as adult Catholic Christians. The sacrament strengthens and renews the graces of Baptism, empowering us to go forth and participate in the mission of the Church.
The Confirmation program is a two year journey. Typically, candidates start when they enter 9th grade and receive Confirmation at the end of their sophomore year. Our goal is to form young adults who know and love the Catholic faith and are able to articulate why we believe what we believe.
Because service is a tenet of our faith, Confirmation candidates must complete 10 hours of volunteer service each year. Candidates are expected to attend weekly mass and will complete a mass journal to help move them into active participation in the mass. First year candidates will attend a day retreat on one Saturday during the year. Second year candidates will attend a weekend retreat.
Confirmation meets every other Wednesday from 7-8:30 pm.
